Some impressions about Kite boarding...
In summer 2010 my Vika and me spend some weeks in the south region of Italy. A region called Gargano, famous for good wind situations for surfers invited us to take some Kite-Surf lessons. A nice guy from Hungary tried to bring us closer to the topic. Honestly I thought it will be quite easy, but my experience so far, just watching Surfers along side the beach were different. In fact there is a lot of theroy about different wind aspects, directions, situations and positions to learn before you even should think about trying it in praxis. It took some hours till we get used to navigate the kite, especially in water, but it was a lot of fun and I hope I can train my almost not existing skills some day and to improve them. Now at least I know why the sport became so popular within the last years. Just bad that there are hardly possibilities in Austria, especially not in the summer months. As I heard Egypt is one of the most popular places for Kite Surfers. The only bad thing, for a starter kit you have to spend minimum around 1.000 Euros, and that seems to me a lot. XD
